“Welcome to the passionate running group Velachery Dreamers, a group of runners who are living in and around Velachery, Chennai. We are supportive community for a decade, comprising runners of all levels, dedicated to building endurance, enjoying the outdoors, and motivating each other to reach our running goals, whether you’re a seasoned marathoner or just starting your journey!”. We foster inclusivity by welcoming runners of all abilities and paces. Our focus is to popularize running as a path for wellness. This group also provides a competitive yet supportive environment where runners can push each others limit in a healthy, motivating way.
Regular running and core-strengthening sessions (3 sessions per week) by a professional trainer and held in our location and we engage in variety of runs in a week viz, tempo run, interval run, easy runs & walk too. During weekends we do LSD- Long slow Distance run. Monthly once we do “Runderful Sunday”.. this is all chapter run and its an opportunity to meet & run along with our other chapter members. It paves way for socializing and builds the camaraderie between various chapters of Dream runners. We also focus on Cross training by incorporating activities like Yoga, cycling ,strength training, swimming, Beach workout, hill run to supplement running workouts, it helps to prevent injuries and improves overall fitness.
We encourage various engagement activity…any fun and interactive activity that encourages participation, builds solidarity among members, and keeps the running experience exciting, such as themed runs, Monthly/quarterly challenges or even incorporating social elements like post-run group discussions, Regional festival celebrations, Birthday celebration etc.
