Pacing Strategy:

My aim is to enable people who are 60 years plus to finish HM in 2:45 without injuries while ensuring an early recovery. This approach would suit runners who are younger too. This will have 3 stages:

1. 10 mins pre-run stretches.

2. First 500m will be warm up followed by steady pace of 7:45-7:30. Each lap of 2k will have 15s for hydration, stretches, regrouping, slow down and restart. Post 12k, increasingly additional time is kept for each lap. 5 mins of buffer time is kept in 2:45.

3. 10 mins of post-run stretches.

Interesting Fact:

Running was unimaginable for me before DRHM 2022 (I was 60) and I had my own set of health issues compounded by sedentary lifestyle. Not only did I finish my first DRHM 2022 in 2:17 but I dared an FM within 15 days of DRHM, thanks to the structured training by DR. Subsequently, I have done many HMs and FMs in different cities.

A 7.40 to 7.50 pace jog with around 4 stops approximately every 5K

Its amazing to see the satisfaction and excitement the first time runners experience at the finish line, feels super good to be around those who take it up and then go all the way to finish it.
